About the Opportunity

STARDUST GENERAL CONSULTING SERVICES LLC is expanding its nationwide network of professional Court Interpreters to support federal, state, local, tribal, and administrative courts, government agencies, law firms, and private-sector clients throughout the United States.

Assignments may include criminal and civil proceedings, immigration hearings, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, attorney-client meetings, administrative hearings, and other legal proceedings. Opportunities are available for both onsite and remote interpreting assignments.

 

United States Residency & Work Authorization

Applicants must:

  • Currently reside within the United States.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Be available to perform assignments within the United States.
  • Successfully satisfy client-specific background investigation requirements when applicable.

Qualified interpreters may receive recurring assignments based on performance, availability, and client needs.

 

Primary Responsibilities

As a Court Interpreter, you will:

  • Provide accurate consecutive, simultaneous, and sight interpretation.
  • Interpret faithfully without additions, omissions, or alterations.
  • Maintain neutrality, impartiality, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Accurately interpret legal terminology and courtroom proceedings.
  • Follow applicable court interpreter codes of ethics and professional standards.
  • Assist judges, attorneys, court personnel, and Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals.
  • Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled assignments.
  • Complete required assignment documentation and reports.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Native or near-native fluency in English and at least one additional language.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology.
  • Ability to interpret accurately under pressure.
  • Professional courtroom demeanor.
  • Reliable internet connection for remote assignments.
  • Ability to satisfy client-specific background screening requirements when applicable.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • State Certified Court Interpreter credential.
  • Federally Certified Court Interpreter credential.
  • National Center for State Courts (NCSC) Certification.
  • Federal Court Interpreter Certification Examination (FCICE).
  • Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AOUSC) Certification.
  • Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI®) or Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI).
  • American Translators Association (ATA) Certification.
  • Defense Language Institute (DLI) training.
  • Public Trust or Active U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Experience interpreting in federal, state, immigration, or administrative courts.
  • Experience with depositions, arbitrations, mediations, or law enforcement proceedings.
  • Remote Video Interpreting (RVI) or Telephone Interpreting experience.

 

Technology Requirements

For remote assignments, interpreters should have:

  • High-speed internet connection.
  • Computer or laptop.
  • HD webcam.
  • Professional headset with microphone.
  • Quiet, private workspace.
  • Ability to use Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Google Meet, or other client-approved platforms.
